List of required documents for international travel
1. Electronic identification
Electronic identification involves microchipping the animal, which is done at a veterinary clinic. The microchip contains electronic information.
It is necessary to microchip the puppy at the earliest stage of travel preparation, and any tests conducted before microchipping are considered invalid.
2. Veterinary passport
The international veterinary passport is a document that provides information about the animal’s owner and the animal itself. It also includes details of vaccinations, treatments performed, and chip information.
3. Rabies vaccination
Rabies vaccination is administered at a veterinary clinic, usually at the age of 12 weeks.
The vaccine is considered valid only after a successful analysis of antibody titration, which allows traveling abroad.
The vaccine is valid for one year.
All vaccinations must be recorded in the veterinary passport.
4. Blood test certificate for rabies antibody titration
The blood test certificate for rabies antibody titration confirms the effectiveness of the rabies vaccination.
The blood sample for this certificate is taken 30 days after vaccination. The certificate is valid for the same period as the vaccine.
5. Form 1 VET, International Health Certificate
Form 1 VET is issued based on the data from the veterinary passport and should be exchanged for an International Health Certificate at the border veterinary checkpoint when crossing the border.
The validity period of Form 1 VET is 5 days, and the International Health Certificate is valid for 3 days.
